Heartwarming Story: Sweet Dog Overcomes a Massive Salivary Tumor After 6 Years, as Owners Finally Seek Veterinary Care

After their previous owners inexplicably neglected to address their massive salivary tumor for an astonishing six years, a delightful dog finally receives veterinary care. As per the rescue group known as Log Way Home, Jake was adored by his previous family, yet they failed to seek medical attention when his face began to swell.

“De acuerdo con los dueños de Jake, ha estado lidiando con un tumor salival durante un largo período de SEIS AÑOS. Ellos creen que se originó a partir de la mordida de un radio. A pesar de esta dificultad, Jake es un perro de interior que se comporta de manera ejemplar. Está adiestrado para hacer sus necesidades en el lugar correcto, se lleva bien con otros perros y ¡incluso sabe cómo sacudirse!”. Según la entidad.

Following Jake’s discovery wandering in a remote area of Texas last week, Cribs for Capines has been working to persuade his family to surrender custody so that Jake could receive the veterinary care he needed. Currently being treated in Waco, Jake has already experienced significant relief after a substantial volume of fluid was drained from him. The organization expresses gratitude to the amazing staff at the Texas Animal Medical Center in Waco, specifically Dr. Lide and his colleagues, who have been treating Jake and extracting 1200 cc of salivary fluid from his beak. (Check out the last two shots to see how much of a difference it made!)

“For the FIRST TIME IN SIX YEARS, Jake was able to turn his head. It was such an easy feat to accomplish! He’s eating and defecating properly, in good spirits, and overall, seems to be in good behavior.” According to the agency, there are no guarantees that Jake will fully recover, but dedicated individuals are tirelessly working to give him the best possible chance.
